Mubasshir Washif is a Research Officer at the institute for developing Science and Health initiatives (ideSHi). He joined ideSHi in December 17, 2020. He graduated from the department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2017. He completed his MS from the same department in 2018. He did his MS thesis at Nutrition and Health Research Lab, department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Dhaka. He did his MS thesis on “Human Telomerase Reverse Transcriptase gene (rs2735940, rs2736100), telomere length and Risk of Developing Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in Bangladeshi Children” based on gene mutation and clinical manifestation, in collaboration with Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital, Dhaka, Bangladesh. He received “Syed Saleheen Qadri Annual Scholarship” for brilliant academic result in B.Sc (Hon’s) from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2017. He also received “National Science and Technology (NST) Fellowship” in 2018 for his MS Thesis research.
At ideSHi, Mubasshir is actively involved in several research projects, which include Clinical trial of Biologics like Adalimumab, Mammalian Cell Culture based Vaccine Response study, COVID-19 Immunology, Thalassemia, Inborn Errors of Metabolism. His research interest lies in Synthetic Biology, Genetic Engineering and Genetic Disorders, Cancer Biology. His hobbies include reading books, playing cricket, and gardening. He loves and enjoys teaching a lot.
