Dr. Mohammad Sazzadul Islam is an Assistant Scientist in the infectious disease unit at the Institute for Developing Science and Health Initiatives (ideSHi). He is working as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Genetic Engineering and biotechnology Department, University of Dhaka. He has received his BSc and MSc in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Dhaka. He has completed his PhD in Molecular biology and Oncology from Chiba University, Japan. During his PhD program he worked on BMCC1, a favorable marker for neuroblastoma, transcriptionally regulated by E2F1. He has worked as a research officer in the Virology laboratory of the International Centre for Diarrheal Disease Research, Bangladesh (icddr,b). He has primary interest in the cellular signaling pathways and epigenetic in cancer biology. He has strong interest in antimicrobial resistance mechanisms, microbiome study, infectious disease and clinical genomics of inborn errors of metabolism.
