Centre for Medical Biotechnology (CMBT)

The Centre for Medical Biotechnology (CMBT) operates under the Directorate General of Health Services and focuses on progressing scientific issues related to the implementation of the Government of Bangladesh's policy initiatives supporting rapid deployment of medical biotechnology to confront health, nutrition and livelihood challenges.

International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research Bangladesh (icddr,b)

icddr,b is an international health research organization dedicated to saving lives through translation of research into treatment, training and policy advocacy by addresses some of the most critical health concerns facing the world today.

Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR)

IEDCR was established in 1976 in Dhaka, Bangladesh for conducting research on epidemiological and communicable diseases as well as addressing issues related to the control of disease.

University of Dhaka

ideSHi collaborates with the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology and Department of Genetic Engineering & Biotechnology of the University of Dhaka for various studies. ideSHi's Ph.D. programs are also under the University of Dhaka.

Bangladesh Institute of Tropical and Infectious Diseases (BITID)

BITID was set up in order to tackle tropical infectious diseases through research and capacity development. BITID, located in Chittagong, is also the site for the Rodolphe Mérieux Laboratory. This state-of-the-art facility is dedicated to research, training and biological analysis, focused on tuberculosis, respiratory and enteric infections, and is part of a network of 7 Rodolphe Mérieux Laboratories located worldwide.

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Bangladesh (BSMMU)

BSMMU is the premier postgraduate medical institution in Bangladesh. It traces its beginnings to the Institute of Postgraduate Medical Research (IPGMR) which was established in December 1965. In the year 1998 the Government of Bangladesh converted IPGMR into a medical university for expanding the facilities for higher medical education and research in the country. It has a reputation for providing high quality postgraduate education in different specialties. BSMMU also plays an important role in promoting research activities in various disciplines. Since its inception, the university has also been delivering general and specialized clinical services as a tertiary level healthcare centre.

Dhaka Shishu Hospital

Dhaka Shishu Hospital is a hospital that focuses on the treatment of sick children. It is an autonomous institution and is run by a management board formed by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Its aims and objectives include healthcare for poor children, maintenance of a clinic for immunization of children, education of mothers in feeding and elementary hygiene, motivation of parents for family planning, promotion of research in child heath, and training of doctors, nurses and paramedics.

Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH)

DMCH, established in 1946, has played a pioneering role in the delivery of medical education in Bangladesh. The hospital provides affordable health care to a large number of patients through its outdoor, indoor and emergency facilities.
