Kazi Sarjana Safain is a MSc student of BRAC University in Biotechnology program. She has completed her graduation from BRAC University in Microbiology and her undergrad thesis topic was “Screening of silver resistance gene in clinical isolates and determination of minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) for silver nitrate” for which she worked at Institute for developing science and health initiatives (ideSHi). After completion of BSc degree, she received a fellowship from the World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) which is bearing her educational expenses as well as her living allowances. She is currently working in a project entitled “Screening and profiling of plasmid harboring mcr-1 and mcr-2 genes in pathogenic bacteria and investigating underlying mechanism of dissemination in Bangladesh” at Institute for developing science and health initiatives (ideSHi). For future studies, she is very keen to work on epigenetics and genetic disorders.
