Dr. Md. Alauddin received his BSc and MSc in biochemistry and molecular biology from University of Dhaka and a PhD on metabolic syndrome from Tohoku University, Japan (MEXT). Dr.Alauddin;s research interest includes understanding the role of bioactive component on metabolic syndrome. He made significant contribution in diabetes and coronary heart disease (CHD), especially in understanding the molecular mechanism of nuclear transcription factor related to glucose and insulin impairment. He has also had five years’ experience as assistant manager on method development and method speed up for new molecule at Renata pharmaceutical company. Dr. Alauddin is working as a postdoctoral fellow at Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, University of Dhaka in collaboration with ideSHi. Current research focuses on the development of molecular diagnostic kits for detection of Inborn Error of Metabolism (IEM). He has also interest on system biology, metabolomics and genetics.
